I just returned from my last personal getaway of the year to idyllic Lake Norris, Tennessee. Having delighted in the glory of boating and waterskiing {well, watching two of the men in our party waterski} on that flat, glittering lake with those lush green forests surrounding us, I am convinced that this is the perfect time of year to take a Fall retreat to a lake. My body and soul imbibed that fresh mountain air like a thirsty traveler.
I returned home to find this hanging in the store windows:
A multitude of mirrors of many shapes, sizes, and styles hanging aloft in every window, all curiously askew. And inside the shop, oh inside...
Our Fall palette this year is a melange of honeyed neutrals, punctuated by crisp black and white... Hand-printed Mavelot Graphic Pillows, Daily Candy, Urns with Moss and Hollow French Tapers, and Cerulean Blue Vintage Seltzer Bottle. Curious santos heads mingle with our matte textured fragranced pillars. Doily-printed melamine plates and burlap placemats.
When your other home is a French chateau {at least in your dreams}, these Lion Hooks for the wall are the way to go. Deep saturated yellows...
Magpies, the fading fabrick-y glory of yellow roses, and Kelly Wearstler's inspiring book. Les objets d'interessants. {Objects of interest.}
And a full spectrum of this season's freshest hue {
purple, don't you know?}, from bold plums...
Alphabet Tote, in Pewter {shown here} and Chocolate. Corner view. Beauty to behold. to quiet amethysts...
Memo to Sid Dickens fans: the new Fall '09 collection, "Enchantment," will soon be in store. Watch the blog for its debut.
We've brought back our Bella Notte bedding by popular request. Come in to speak with us about a custom order for you. Bedding, pillows, baby linens, and more. To vivid lilacs...
Metallic makeup pouches of different sizes, shapes, and hues. And new debuts all throughout the store, including, for the first time ever, items
for baby...
Organic cotton onesies and caps feel good against sweet, unsullied newborn skin. The softest of the soft handstitched friends.
And as always, new jewels galore...
With a party dress, or, like we do around here, with jeans and a crisp shirt. One of a kind language necklaces. Now these are power cuffs.
Just an interesting angle.
My favorite new look in jewelry: Beaded Wrap Bracelets. Wrap one four or five times around the wrist for a boho, layered, easy look. Choose Clear or Hematite for just a touch of glimmer. Blue Mist is also lovely.
You'll never seen one of these again. A vintage locket necklace reading Carnet de Bal, which translates to "Dance Hall Notebook."
And inside...
A heart-shaped ledger for inscribing the names of one's dance partners' in--soft and spotted with age, but still intact!
Plus necessities and props for entertaining and welcoming friends...
A vintage scale balances a fat, generous pillar candle, while down below, blackened Cast Iron Bird Bottle Openers roost, and aloft, our Wine Bottle Candelabra perches atop any empty wine bottle. Teetolater? Try an empty vinegar, French lemonade, or Pellegrino bottle. Candelabra available in Taper Style {shown here} and Votive Style {comes with four glass votive holders}. French sucre {sugar} in three flavors: chocolat, vanille, and {my favorite} lavande. Sprinkle on sugar cookies, fresh fruit, pancakes, or crème brulée. Spoon into plain yogurt, coffee, or tea. Cool gift for a true gourmand. Handcrafted metal heart on wood and metal stand. Says "Happily Ever After" in French.
