Flustery Blustery

This is my dad snowblowing our parking lot before the shop opened this morning. Yep, folks, this is winter in Ohio.
*
We Ohioans love to gripe about our highly changeable weather patterns. Scorching hot in the summer, icy cold in the winter, sometimes even a snowstorm in April or frost in August. It's as if we live in the Weather Channel's equivalent of Bizarro World (Seinfeld fans, nod along with me). You know you're talking to a born and bred Ohioan when you utter the phrase "that's winter in Ohio" and eyes roll. And here in Canton, home of The Blissful, we're even a bit out of the "snow belt" where the towns are always in threat of the "lake effect" coming off of Lake Erie.
*
Still, it can get pretty wild and woolly around here.

I quite love winter weather. It's one of the reasons I may happily spend all of my days right here in O-hi-o.

So bundle up, keep warm, put on your favorite holiday CD (Aimee Mann's One More Drifter in the Snow tops our list), and put those finishing touches on the tree. It's a wonderful life, isn't it?

hey Abby! Love your snow pics!! This is definitely good old OHIO! I don't plan to ever live anywhere else, but at this point in my life I don't just 'love' winter. My Mom says when I'm no longer bundling up 3 girls every time I want to go somewhere it will be different! I love the snow when I can sit in my warm house with my warm jammies on and just watch it!! Cleanining up after my little girls go out is a chore too, but they love playing out in it so much it is worth it!
Take time to enjoy these last hectic days before Christmas! Are you sold out yet? If you still have the calendar journals you show pictured please sell them online!!

I can't decide if I would really love all that snow or not. As one who lived her early years in Minnesota, I do remember some mighty cold snowy days. Mostly fond memories, but hmmm, can't be sure if I'd want more than a week of it per year! I do wish we had more of it here. It is quite an event when it snows!
